‘Whispers’ by Robin Jones Gunn is book 2 in the
Glenbrooke Series of 8. This is a contemporary Christian romance series. Each
book can be read separately, but Glenbrooke is a small town where everyone
knows everyone, so you will run across other people from the other books in the
series.
Teri Moreno is the Spanish school teacher at the
Glenbrooke High School. Last year when she visited her sister Anita on the Hawaiian
island of Maui, she met Mark, a marine biologist. They have spent the last year
communicating back and forth and waiting for summer so she can visit Hawaii
again. Summer has finally arrived and Teri can’t wait to get to Maui to stay
with her sister and brother-in-law.
Teri’s never had too many dates or boyfriends, but this
summer three different guys are interested in her! The first man is of course
Mark. The second man is Scott Robinson, whom was in Anita’s class in school.
The third man is a somewhat laid back man named Gordon Allistar, who happens to
be a klutz. She’ll certainly have stories to tell about her romantic vacation
in Hawaii when she returns home!
She’s never had this much attention before. It’s up to
her to decide who among them would make a good husband. She looks for sparks
and finds them from one of the men. But what if the right man doesn’t give her
sparks or fireworks? She is determined to choose one in this romantic getaway,
but she’s not listening to the Great Matchmaker and whom he would have her
choose! How can you really know someone in only a few weeks? She wants a
husband, but what if the Lord wants her to wait and not rush into any
relationships?
Her vacation is over and life returns to normal in
Glenbrooke. But events happen that pull her back to Hawaii. Will any of the
three men be waiting for her? Are any of them the right one for her? Or have
they all moved on as well?
This is a great book. It shows the romantic side of
Hawaii, but also the realistic side that many don’t know or understand without
actually living there yourself. It comes in book and e-book formats.
