Echoes Of The Heart

‘Echoes’ by Robin Jones Gunn is book 3 in the Glenbrooke Series of 8. This is a contemporary Christian romance series. Each book can be read separately, but Glenbrooke is a small town where everyone knows everyone, so you will run across other people from the other books in the series.

Lauren Michele Phillips lives in Nashville, Tennessee where she works as a bank teller. She suffers from a break up with her fiancé as he’s given a job in New York City. She hated visiting that city and never wants to live there. That was only the start of tensions and more differences between them are brought up. Realizing that they want different things, Jeff leaves for the city and she remains in tears.

Her brother Brad surprises her with a visit and helps to cheer her up. He also brings a used computer and sets her up with internet so they can kept in contact better. Brad and Lauren have always had a close bond, even with thirteen months between them. Before he leaves, he gets Lauren an online pen pal with the screen name KC. Lauren figures she doesn’t need a pen pal, but doesn’t get around to deleting his address.

Shortly after Jeff left, Lauren signed up for some college courses in order to finish her degree to become an English teacher. One night when she was working on a paper on her computer, she loses it due to computer problems. She sends a quick email to Brad, but not really used to the system yet she accidentally sends the message to KC instead of Brad. That gets the ball rolling and KC and Lauren send messages back and forth off and on for over a year.

Lauren receives an invitation to her old college roommate Teri’s wedding (Teri is from book 2). She and KC decide that it’s time to meet face-to-face. But will she have the courage to go through with it? Should she listen to her friend’s warnings about meeting someone she only knows from the internet?

Lauren is one of those people that things just seem to happen to, so there are a few surprises in store. This comes in book and e-book formats.
