‘Frozen’ is Disney’s latest big hit based on the story of
the Snow Queen with a different twist.
In the country of Arendelle, there lived a king and queen
and their two daughters. The older daughter is named Elsa and younger one is
named Anna. Only Elsa isn’t an ordinary girl, she can made and control ice and
snow!
One day while the two girls are playing together with
Elsa using her powers, young Elsa (Eva Bella) accidentally blasts her powers at
young Anna’s (Livvy Stubenrauch) head and she starts to freeze. Their parents
take them to someone who can heal Anna. They are told that unfreezing Anna’s
head is easier than if Elsa’s powers had frozen her heart. While there, Elsa is told that her powers will
get stronger and she needs to learn to control them.
In fear of what Elsa’s powers might do to harm Anna or
anyone else, the girls are separated and Elsa is given her own room. Now only
her parents visit Elsa, as she tries to gain control over her powers. The king
has the gates to the castle closed and locked against the village and visitors.
Most of the joy and fun leaves the castle that night, especially for Elsa. Some
years later, her parents have to go take care of some royal business, but the
ship they are on sinks and all are lost. Elsa continues to keep to her room and
so not only is Anna without her sister, but her parents as well.
Finally Elsa (Idina Menzel) is eighteen and is of age to
be crowned Queen. Anna (Kristen Bell) is excited to have the gates finally
opened and she will get to see more people than just the servants! She is even
hoping to find a young man for herself. Anna meets Prince Hans (Santino Fontana),
the thirteenth prince of the Southern Isles.
After the coronation, Elsa’s secret comes out and she
runs to the nearby mountains that are covered in snow and ice. What she doesn’t
realize is that she released her powers and created an eternal winter, and its
summer! (This is where the song Let It Go
is in the movie, the song that has become so popular.) Anna decides to follow
her and bring her back so she can fix the weather. Along the way she meets
Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) who is an ice cutter, his reindeer friend Sven, and a
magical snowman named Olaf (Josh Gad).
The story is great, the music is wonderful, and some of
the scenes are breath-takingly beautiful. Watch and enjoy the movie and the
soundtrack.
