Hi Honey, I'm Home

‘Hi Honey, I’m Home’ by Linda Windsor is a Christian romance about lost love and the miracles that can happen at Christmastime.

Nick Egan was a workaholic journalist. He was on assignment in some third-world country when word came that the hotel where he had been staying at was bombed by terrorists and he was killed in the explosion.

Kathryn Sinclair had married Nick on Christmas Eve, against the wishes of her parents. Three years later, she also said goodbye to him on Christmas Eve, as he left their house and her life. The two were in the middle of a divorce, when word came that he had died. Since that time, Kate has been living for her two sons. Jason was about a year and a half old when his father was killed, but Jeremy wasn’t born for another six months and Kate never told Nick she was pregnant again.

Kate has moved on with her life and now works at an import business. Kate has been planning a special dinner party at her house to showcase some of their new import items to her choice customers. In less than an hour her dining room would be filled with her customers and her employers. On hearing the doorbell, Kate opens the door to find Nick standing in the cold. The first words out of his mouth are, “Hi honey, I’m home.”

Nick was not dead as it had been assumed. Apparently the terrorist, who bombed the hotel, had taken him and several others as hostages. He has had six and a half years in prison to think and learn from his mistakes. And he found God there. But his wife is skeptical, seeing as how he’s pulled the ‘I’m changed’ card before. She wants him to prove it. Her live-in housekeeper/babysitter is leaving for a few weeks, due to family issues. Nick asks to step into that role to prove that he has changed, and to spend time with his sons in order to get to know them.

But like all good stories, things happen that pull them closer and others push them away. Nick has a secret haunting him. Will he be able to tell her, before she finds out from someone else? Paul Radisson, Kate’s attorney and Nick’s former best friend, has been trying to get Kathryn to marry him for some time now. Will she finally accept his proposal? The kids decide to play matchmaker, and like most kids, want Mom and Dad back together. Will their sneakiness work or will it backfire on them? Can Kate learn to forgive Nick? Will Kate give in to Nick’s wish and her kids’ choice? Or will she finish with the divorce proceedings and marry Paul? Found out what happens in her book.
